Julio Larraz Exhibition Opening Reception
Owners of Art of the World Gallery Liliana Molina and Mauricio Vallejo celebrated the gallery’s second exhibition featuring one of the most important contemporary Latin American artists, Julio Larraz with over 200 art enthusiasts on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
The Julio Larraz exhibition made its debut to the public on Friday, February 24, 2017 and will be available until April 15, 2017 at Art of the World Gallery, Houston’s newest modern, postwar and contemporary art gallery, located at 2201 Westheimer Road, Houston 77098.
Larraz, the Cuba born and raised artist made a special appearance at the private opening reception. The crowd of art collectors viewed 37 of Larraz’s work of art. With Larraz’s art on display, guests’ curiosity was provoked which allowed them to explore their imagination. With his presence in the room, the master of color produced the desire to understand the events and interactions depicted in his scenic works.
Among the exhibition are a variety of paintings, watercolors and sculptures. Larraz’s artwork depicts romantic prints, nostalgia of a bourgeois world already gone, possibly from Cuba before the revolution, dictators, sophisticated women, men with power and a life of luxury. The exhibition can be considered a tidal wave of power, elegance, mystery and mastery of color. All the works of art are for sale.
Armandos Restaurant articulated a delicious menu of lite bites that included endive with smoked salmon, tuna tartar tacos, chicken mole sopecitos, steak bruschetta and fried green tomatoes with crab remoulade. Guests also enjoyed complimentary champagne and wine.
Art of the World’s collection of art is comprised of masters and mid-career painters and sculptors from Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.
