Mr. Brainwash “Houston is Beautiful” Exhibit Opening Reception

The city illuminated with electric energy during a private opening reception for Houston is Beautiful, a collection of artworks by Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta). Owners of Art of the World Gallery Liliana Molina and Mauricio Vallejo celebrated the exhibition along with special guest Mr. Brainwash and over 250 art enthusiast on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
The exhibition featuring the moniker filmmaker and street pop artist Mr. Brainwash made its debut to the public on Friday, April 28, 2017 and will be available until July 15, 2017 at Art of the World Gallery, Houston’s newest modern, postwar and contemporary art gallery, located at 2201 Westheimer Road, Houston 77098.
Exclusively for the exhibition, the renowned figure in international street art, Mr. Brainwash created pieces inspired by Houston’s unique culture and the Lone Star State that are available at the gallery. The exhibition can be described as playful and positive and includes 70 of Mr. Brainwash’s artwork. Among the exhibition are a variety of mixed media canvases, sculptures and portraits of music legends, constructed from bits of broken records.
As one of the most popular and relevant artist of today, Mr. Brainwash’s work quickly captivated the crowd with vibrant colors and over the top pieces. The iconic “Life is Beautiful” sculpture, placed right outside the gallery created a charming experience as guests made their way inside. Mr. Brainwash’s enthusiasm bounced from display to display and filled the room with joy. His work garners recognition from art collectors and street-art enthusiasts alike. All works of art are available for sale.
Fans of Mr. Brainwash were able to purchase a limited and special edition printed poster created by the artist that highlights Houston’s most popular industry. A portion of sales from the evening benefited AIDS Foundation Houston, which provides programs and services that support thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS in our community.
Armandos Restaurant articulated a delicious menu of lite bites that included Casuela Cazuela de Tinga, Grilled Shrimp with Chile Lime Sopecitos, Toasted Bruschetta with Angus Beef, Grilled Pumpernickle Pumpernickel with Cured Salmon, Tuna Tartar Tacos. Guests also enjoyed complimentary champagne and wine.
Art of the World’s collection of art is comprised of masters and mid-career painters and sculptors from Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. Molina and Vallejo are dedicated to providing a memorable art experience and invite their clients to stimulate their minds with the beauty of art. Art of the World Gallery is open to the public Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
