Latin-America conquers Houston at Art of the World Gallery with "Homage to the Great Latin-American Masters"

HOUSTON, TX (October 11, 2019) – Art of the World Gallery is pleased to announce its outstanding exhibition “Homage to the Great Latin-American Masters” featuring some of the most important and acclaimed Latin-American artists of the modern era. The stunning collective show is debuting on Friday, October 11th, 2019 and will be on view until January 11th, 2020 at the gallery located in the River Oaks area, at 2201 Westheimer Rd. Houston 77098.

Homage to the Great Latin-American Masters exhibition is comprised of a magnificent selected roster of thirteen remarkable artists of the Twentieth Century, presenting nine different countries from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.

To start from the north, the show includes the presence of three generations of renowned Mexicans, in chronological order: Diego Rivera, known for his socio-political realism and fresco technique murals; in second, the acclaimed modernist Rufino Tamayo with his figurative and lyric abstractions of vivid style; and third the internationally well-known living artist Javier Marín, who is mainly recognized for his monumental heads and human figure contemporary neo-classical sculptures.

The exhibition is a selection of complex expressions composed by wonderful explosions of color palettes, extensive variety in techniques, incredibly rich and diverse compositions and forms. A world-class experience comprised of approximately 30 marvelous artworks on view starting at the façade-entrance and main floor, of a two stories gallery. Paintings, drawings, mixed media, printmaking, photography and medium size to monumental sculptures will be embracing the notable exhibit ending fabulously such a successful year. 

Latin-American art destined to be an artistic expression comprised of the South, the Center, the Caribbean, Mexico and all Latin-Americans living in other regions of the world, is more relevant today than ever. In terms of population, languages, economy and cultural diversity, Latin-America is one of the most important in the world; due to pre-Columbian origins merged with many foreigner races giving rise to mestizos, mulattos , creoles, and over thousands of intermingled traditions among different social characteristics instigated a tremendous impact not only on the continent but globally. Each of the several indigenous cultures developed sophisticated artistic disciplines, which were highly influenced by religious and spiritual concerns. Formerly after years of European domination, the rebellions and revolutions in the Americas began, adding from the early 1900s to the postwar period a second wave of emigration to the new land, enhancing the countless modernist events in the field of Arts. Altogether facts that emanated surprising intellectual and artistic influences of a new era of generations from that time to the present. The contribution of these assembled maestros to the history modern of art is invaluable; breaking the conservatisms in societies as well as in the fine arts academies with their revolutionary visions besides traditional heritage.

The gallery’s exhibition — Homage to the Great Latin-American Masters — begins Friday, October 11th 2019 through, January 11th 2020. No fee entrance required.
